All I can say is wow! So much that God is doing in and through the ministry of ARM!
We are moved into our new offices and getting settled in. Still details like building inspections, fire codes, and how to do some basic renovations to accomodate as a store. Garrett, Beth Ann, and Page have worked extra hard to get everything set up. Sandy has been monitoring the wonderful gifts that are coming in and making this happen. We are so blessed with such a hard working staff! Joe has come back on our staff as the Buildmore Store manager and supervisor of construction. It is great to have his energy and smiling face back with us! And to check out some of the things going on with the store go to Buildmorestore.com
So what is up and coming? Lots of things!
1) We have a work day scheduled with Cornerstone from Auburn on Oct 9th-they are going to help us move some items and do some basic cleanup at the store. We are very close to being able to open for business!
2) Oct 15-17th, we host Christ UMC from Mobile who will be working on two homes in the Tuskegee area. They will be able to share lots of love and grace with some great families!
Then there is our summer staff reunion! On Friday Oct. 29th we will gather together, share some memories of the past, tell where God has us today, and so much more. It will be a great time to reflect and fellowship together. We had a reunion two years ago in Auburn for our 10th anniversary. I can’t believe we are already at year 12. So many people have been such a great part of our journey and where God has led us. ARM is in a great place and will succeed even when I am gone!
The following day, Oct 30th-we are going to make a great difference in our Auburn and Tuskegee Communities. Over 100 volunteers are coming together to share the love of Christ. We have twelve families we are going to serve. Some families, like Ms. Robinson, need a new roof. Others have water damage in their walls, while another family has a broken floor joist causing part of her house to sag-her son had a stroke and is now in a wheelchair. This is a real and meaningful way to influence a family and communicate how much Christ loves them and that the body of Christ is a force that cares! So, we pray for the many churches who will come together to share and serve!
We hope and pray that if you aren’t joining us-you will find a way to plug in somewhere and share with others!
Thank you for your love and mercy!
lisa
