Last week, we were blessed to serve with a group of 60 Auburn University Honors College freshman. They joined us for two days of service as a part of the 2nd annual K(no)w Poverty Week.
These brand new students arrived on campus a full week early to learn about poverty in rural Alabama and to get their hands dirty serving! Everyone worked hard through the heat of August with four families across Lee County. After their two days of service, our executive director, Lisa Pierce, presented a lecture to the students on what poverty looks like in rural Alabama. What an incredible way to begin your Auburn student experience!
We are so thankful to the entire AU Honors College Staff for partnering with us for the second year on this very special event. We look forward to continuing to serve alongside the Honors College.
