On Saturday, August 27, 2016, we partnered with Auburn’s Wesley Foundation, our student group–ARM @ AU–and other individuals from the university and community for a day of service! We were able to host 7 work teams and work with 5 families and also at Tuskegee United Methodist Church and the parsonage in Tuskegee. From mowing lawns to installing flooring, we are thankful for all of those who partnered with us!
We would like to give a special thank you to all of our site leaders who happen to be mostly former summer staff–thank you Ben, Sam, Gabe, Emma, Andrew, Brian, Drew, and Leo for your leadership and faithfulness to this ministry.
Thank you also to the families who allowed us to partner with them in service; thank you Ms. Maddox, Ms. Thomas, Ms. Scott, Ms. McAlpine, and Mr. Haynes. We loved getting to spend time with them as we served and shared lunch together! We are so thankful for the stories they shared, the words of encouragement they spoke, the questions they asked, but most importantly, for their presence with us. It was a blessing to be able to help make their homes warmer, safer, and drier, but it was even more of a blessing to spend time getting to know them.
Join us on Saturday, October 8 as we partner with The Way 2 Serve Ministries for their My Jerusalem Service Day. To learn more or to register to serve, click here.
