The kids at Sonshine Kids Day Camp in Tuskegee enjoyed a great week with Camp iCare from June 20-23! According to its website, Camp iCare
is dedicated to teaching kids how to be money smart, understand wants vs. needs, and practice philanthropy… Camp iCare is designed to foster children’s imaginations, develop leadership, encourage compassion, and highlight the need for children to be money smart while helping others.
The day camp kids loved learning about finances, how to be great leaders, and what it means to give back to their communities. They also really enjoyed meeting and hearing from the many inspiring guest speakers like Auburn football player (defensive tackle) Montravius Adams!
Camp iCare was launched as a joint venture between the Auburn University’s College of Human Sciences’ Women’s Philanthropy Board and Early Learning Center in the Department of Human Development and Family Studies in 2009. We’re so grateful for our friends at Auburn University for partnering with us to help make Camp iCare happen at Sonshine Kids’ Day Camp! We especially want to thank Sharon Wilbanks and Margaret Vollenweider, our two board members who serve as faculty in Auburn’s College of Human Development and Family Studies, who got us connected with the Camp iCare team.
