LOVE

Mother’s Day is a day to remember how special Moms are. They Inspire in the generosity of their giving.   They may give a shoulder to lean on or give an ear to listen.  They may give encouragement at the right time.  Or they may give a warm place at Home Sweet Home. But most importantly, Mom’s Inspire LOVE.  Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 13:13 “Now these three remain: faith, hope, and love.  But the greatest of these is love”.

This Mother’s Day, we have an opportunity for you to inspire another child.  Give Your Mom’s Love.  How? Sponsor a child to attend the Sonshine Kids Day Camp in honor or memory of your mother.

Click here to make your sponsorship online and select Day Camp Sponsorship in the designation box. $45 sponsors one child for one week of camp, $360 for the whole summer, or choose a custom sponsorship option. How has Mom inspired us? We wanted to share a few memories and thoughts of Mom from our ministry team as you consider how your mom has inspired you…

From Joe: “When I think back to childhood, I remember my mom as a hard worker and someone who always made me feel special.  I remember her going back to school to earn her nursing degree, and then working night shifts as a nurse.  I remember her always encouraging her to do my best.  She was and continues to be an amazing source of strength in my life.”

From Nancy: “She was my brownie girl scout leader, the mom who made cookies and cupcakes for bake sales, the mom my classmates remember fondly after all these years, a working mom once all of her kids were in school, but now at 97, she is slipping away”.

From Jeremiah: “My mom is awesome.  No matter how tired she is or late it is she will proofread my spelling!”

From Angela: “I remember the Fun Friday’s at McDonald’s as a child with my family.  I was inspired to carry this tradition out this tradition with my own family.”

From Amber: “My mom always put her children before herself.  She pretty much ran herself ragged shuttling us all over the place for various sports.  She volunteered at the school, she refereed our games, and she still managed to make awesome food every night for dinner. I look at my mom now and wonder where in the world she found the energy to do everything.”

We’re thankful for the all the ways mothers inspire us to love. This Mother’s Day we invite you to consider partnering with our summer kid’s ministry, Sonshine Kid’s Day Camp, by sponsoring a child in your mother’s honor or memory. Want more details?
