At the close of every summer, we come together to celebrate all the ways God has been at work in and through and with and even beyond us. All the day camp kids come with their families, our home repair families come, our local church partners come, and of course our summer mission intern team is there as the hosts. We eat, we share testimonies, we enjoy our fellowship with God and one another – it’s a great time!

In Tuskegee, we were blessed to gather at George Washington Carver Elementary School’s cafeteria. Liberty UMC of Notasulga sponsored the dinner and provided the main course for our delicious potluck meal. The day campers performed a skit to the parable of the Good Samaritan, shared a poem, and sang some of their favorite songs. Mr. Jerido shared about the impact of our home repair ministry. It was very special to share this celebration with many of our board members, local pastors, and Bishop David Graves of the Alabama West Florida Conference of the UMC.

Our York summer celebration was actually hosted by Livingston First Baptist Church. Our friends from LFBC went above and beyond by preparing some delicious BBQ chicken for us to enjoy! The day campers performed several songs with dances and one of the kids presented a thank you certificate to all the day camp counselors – Celina, Trent, and Kayli! Mr. Stanley shared about how he had experienced God’s love through our home repair ministry. Mrs. Gail from York UMC, which partners with us by providing housing for our York interns, also shared a very moving word of thanks to ARM.

We still can’t believe that our 20th summer of youth mission camp is over, but we are so excited to see how God continues the work that was begun with each of our teams, day camp children, and home repair families!
